MINT MOVING WITH CAESAR: 6, 48BCE. Female head (rt.), wearing oak wreath and diadem. Crawford doesn’t identify the goddess (Sear says it might be Clementia). LII (52, Caesar’s age?) behind. Gallic arms and ”CAE–SAR” on rev. below. Minted to pay the legions before, while, and after defeating Pompey. BMC, 3955. 18 mm. 4.03 grams. A lovely coin, medium gray, with a thin but eye-catching neon blue halo around the goddess. Ex–Dr. Jacobs, 1995 (graded by Superior as “extremely fine”). Item #355
