Fine in a fine dustjacket, tight as 2 coats of sunblock, and smooth as a Rodeo Drive bikini wax, and sellers who use the word fine to describe a book that is just nice cannot claim to be sincere, much in the same way that drivers who politely tap their car horn while running a red light cannot claim to be good citizens.
