Padua: Tipogr, Salmin, 1896. First Edition. Hardcover. 1st edition (in Italian) of this printing, the tiniest of miniature books (11mm. X 18mm.), 208 pages, complete with the title page and portrait. Colophon “printed in Dantino’s characters to surpass any other tiny edition, May 1897.” Contemporary (original?) vellum, a fine copy. The work seems to be to be the smallest scientific book in the world printed with movable type. The font used is “eye of a fly” engraved in 1834 by the Piacenza Antonio Farina. Fine. Item #921
